This is the story about an old house and the families who loved it and lived there. Three generations of my family have lived within its wall, although it was home for other families before that. Although worn on the outside and the inside, it stands as a monument to the way things used to be, and in all honesty, to the way I wish things would stay. When family and the slower pace of neighborhoods gone by still mattered, when families were often lifelong members of community and when trees and backyards were a normal part of life.
