Old House in the City

Welcome to Old House in the City!

Welcome to my blog and thanks for stopping by! This is a very new adventure for me, so I hope you will be patient as I sort through the process of developing a site that is interesting and enjoyable and celebrates the history and life of what I think is a very special house.  At its heart, this blog is a love story…although I admit a different kind of love story. It’s about love for a house, of course, but actually so much more because of what this particular house represents.  For two families, this house has represented a place a loving memories and the fulfillment of the American dream. It’s a story of immigrants finding their place in a new land and raising families to embrace all that this country offered them.  For me especially, this house is my sanctuary and my solace. Its old walls and creaky floors speak to my soul and remind me of wonderful days past. Every day it teaches me new lessons about life…about patience and perseverance during life’s challenges, about enjoying each day in the moment, and about how old things can still have a valuable place in a world that seems to move faster each day and values the past less and less. I hope you will enjoy the visit!
